The Recertification Process

CNRN certification is recognized for a period of 5 years. The official expiration date of a CNRN certificate is December 31 of the fifth complete year after certification (i.e., CNRN certificates initially earned in 2006 and recertification effective January 1, 2007, expire on December 31, 2011).
Those who wish to renew their credential may do so either by retaking the CNRN examination or recertifying by CE. Please make sure to use the correct application when applying for recertification.
If you wish to recertify by continuing education (CE) hours, you must earn all CE prior to your certification's expiration date.
If you wish to recertify by exam, you must do so in the year that you are due to recertify.
CNRNs due to recertify are notified 6 months prior to the expiration of their certification, but it is ultimately the responsibility of the CNRN to begin the recertification process as well as provide ABNN with current contact information.
